According to reports, the U.S. Army is advancing plans to create a digital marketplace aimed at streamlining access to counter-drone technologies for military units and government partners. The effort is being led by an Army-directed joint task force responsible for overseeing systems designed to detect and defeat small unmanned aircraft.

As reported by industry sources, the marketplace is intended to bring structure to a fragmented counter-drone ecosystem. A wide range of solutions already exists across the defense and security landscape, but acquiring them often requires lengthy and complex processes.

The new platform is expected to provide a centralized environment where approved systems can be reviewed, compared, and selected based on operational needs and performance data.

The task force overseeing the initiative was established earlier this year, replacing a previous service-led office. It operates with expanded authority over research, development, and procurement related to counter-small unmanned aircraft systems, while certain service-specific programs remain outside its scope.

Reports indicate that the organization can approve substantial funding for individual development efforts, although a dedicated budget for the marketplace itself has not yet been finalized.

Industry reporting suggests the marketplace will feature a mix of detection and defeat capabilities, including non-kinetic options such as radio frequency systems and sensor-based tools.

Initial efforts have focused on supporting homeland defense missions, particularly along the southern border. Officials involved in the program have emphasized the need for ongoing interagency cooperation as drone threats continue to evolve.
