Toulouse-based Infinite Orbits secured €40 million to fund European expansion. The space technology company builds systems for servicing satellites already in orbit.

German venture firm Matterwave Ventures and French investor Wind Capital led the round. The European Innovation Council Fund participated along with multiple European backers, including IRDI and Newfund from France, plus Poland's Balnord. About €10 million came through debt financing.

Infinite Orbits plans to establish offices in Luxembourg, Spain, the UK, Germany, and Poland. The startup currently operates from France, the United States, and Singapore.

CEO Adel Haddoud said the fundraise demonstrates how European private capital can support building continental leaders in orbital servicing. He emphasized the coordinated nature of the investment.

The company creates small spacecraft equipped with autonomous navigation software for satellite maintenance. Services include inspecting orbital assets, extending satellite lifespans, and managing end-of-life procedures.

Revenue reached nearly €20 million this year. Infinite Orbits reports €150 million in contracted future revenue over three years from civil and defense customers.

The French defense ministry's space command awarded Infinite Orbits a contract worth up to €50 million earlier this year. The deal covers orbital inspection and surveillance services. Management wants to build similar relationships with government agencies across Europe.

Satellite operators Intelsat and SES have partnered with Infinite Orbits. The company will conduct Europe's first commercial satellite life extension mission with SES in 2027.

Fresh capital will accelerate the deployment of Infinite Orbits' satellite servicing fleet. Leadership describes this as entering a new phase focused on growing the order pipeline.

The company employs 100 people currently. Expanding into five additional countries will require significant hiring to support local operations and customer relationships.
